About Auto Data Direct
Auto Data Direct, Inc. (ADD) was founded in 1999 to provide fast, accurate, real-time access to Florida motor vehicle, vessel and driver license records. Since then, ADD has steadily expanded its inquiry services into other states and now offers numerous other value-added services for a range of industries.
ADD offers a suite of innovative, web-based tools to expedite and simplify federal or state-required business processes as well as to provide real-time national motor vehicle information at an affordable cost. ADD is known for providing meaningful, industry-specific business solutions delivered with responsive and personalized customer service. Corporate values of integrity, honesty, and commitment to serving the customer are the foundation on which ADD has expanded throughout the United States.
ADD’s headquarters is located in Tallahassee, FL, just one mile from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle (DHSMV) offices.
ADD understands the need for accurate, usable data, and that is one of the reasons ADD developed its powerful inquiry, letter and form tools. Qualified ADD users can access real-time owner and lienholder information from 30 state databases through ADD’s DMV123 portal. Users can use the real-time state data to populate Florida applications for duplicate, transfer, salvage, and repossession titles and other motor vehicle forms. Using the DirectPost-Office electronic certified mail system, all it takes is a few clicks to create and mail Notice of Claim of Lien letters and other certified letters, all without leaving your desk.
Florida dealers can use ADD’s ADDTag system to issue print-on-demand temporary and electronically report issuance and tag transfers to the state, while by-here, pay-here dealers and lenders nationwide can take advantage of ADD’s new electronic lien and title system .
Auto Data Direct, Inc. also contracts with the American Association of Motor Vehicle administrators (AAMVA) to provide vehicle history reports from the National Motor Vehicle Title Information System (NMVTIS). ADD also offers salvage reporting tools for businesses required to report total loss and salvage vehicle data to the federal NMVTIS database.
With the exception of vehicle history reports, ADD’s services are not available to individual users. ADD’s DMV123 state inquiries, NMVTIS salvage reporting, temporary tags, electronic lien and title and electronic certified mail services require a corporate account. Only companies with a permissible use of personal information as described in the Federal Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (DPPA) are eligible for access to ADD’s real-time state inquiry services. To set up an account, ADD requires a one-time account activation fee of $100 and a $50 deposit into a pre-paid account, which means users can get started for as little as $150. ADD has no monthly or annual fees.
