Manager

I worked at ADESA full-time (More than 5 years)

Benefits and time off, excellent people to work with locally.

Easily dispose of you when no longer needed, no matter how hard or how many extra hours you worked. Upper management out of Indianapolis were clear they would not work you hard, that was not true. Corporate requirements and deadlines that were to be met made a work-life balance impossible. No work-life balance. No loyalty to long term hard working employees.

Advice to Management

Don t bring in Corporate people to talk to entire staff and be dishonest. Don t tell employees if you don t like what you are doing or changes in positions happen, there is plenty of opportunity for everyone, because that is simply not the truth.

If they don t like you. they will remove you in a heartbeat. TRUST NO ONE!

I worked at ADESA full-time (More than 5 years)

Decent pay, good location, great hours

Very little Management support and they all tend to their own agendas.

Corporate politics plays a part. The C-Level individual (Peter Kelly) would routinely come to town for what they called Town Hall meetings, and it was basically an overview of all the different business units and companies. The common theme was, the company is doing well. record profits. and yet commissions and bonuses were capped. Losing good talent because of this fact.

Advice to Management

To terminate someone for a he said, she said conversation, especially being a long-time employee (nearly 5 years), scream of politics. Instead of confronting a situation head-on, it got reported via the company hotline, which goes directly to corporate and it is claimed that the decision was made there. How about progressive discipline? How about standing up for a loyal and productive employee? Now my entire work history is tarnished.

Getting way too corporate .

I have been working at ADESA full-time (More than 5 years)

Relaxed atmosphere, decent pay, friendly co-workers for the most part.

Corporate has really changed a lot of policies and made things more difficult than they need to be. We have meetings and emails announcing and bragging about how much profit the company is making, yet employees are being paid less and less and raises have decreased in the years I ve been here. It doesn t add up and the general feeling across the board is that they don t care about rewarding you for your hard work. Doesn t seem like you get a promotion unless you re buddy-buddy with management. HR Dept is by far the most unprofessional and untrustworthy I ve seen at any company I ve worked for. No one seems to care. That says a lot.

Advice to Management

Reward your hard working employees more and make necessary changes (better raises, bonuses). You re going to continue losing loyal employees because of the chaos and politics happening here. Offer more growth opportunities and mentorship. Listen to your employees that work to keep your processes in place and clients happy.
