Four New and Exciting Features in Chevrolet Vehicles
Chevrolet. you have to be living under a rock if you’re not familiar with its cars. Founded in 1911, Chevrolet is one of the oldest and most respected automobile brands in the world, producing such iconic models like the Camaro, Impala, and Corvette, for over a hundred years. But Chevrolet is more than just longevity and its famous cars. In fact, a lot of the success the Chevrolet marquee has enjoyed over the years lies with the fact that its vehicles are among the most technologically advanced in the market. Right down to its individual Chevrolet parts, the vehicles made by Chevrolet utilize the latest technologies available to ensure a safe and enjoyable drive.
Here’s some of the latest technology that’s integrated in new Chevrolet vehicles:
EcoTec engine technology
At the heart of the latest Chevrolet vehicles on the road today is the EcoTec engine. Available in 4.3L V6 to 6.2L V8 versions, the EcoTec engine combines recent innovations for a more efficient performance. Like most engines today, the EcoTec engine is direct injection, but it also comes with a cylinder deactivation system and continuously variable valve timing (CVT) to ensure that the engine is providing the right amount of power and torque based on the operating conditions. The engines are also designed to be easily maintained; if one of the gaskets or other component is damaged, it can easily be removed and replaced by Chevrolet parts that are easily available on Internet retailers that offer Chverolet parts online.
The Cruze Clean Turbo Diesel
With the Chevrolet Cruze Diesel, Chevrolet prides itself as the only US automaker in to offer a small domestic car model with a diesel engine. And this is made possible with the Cruze’s Clean Turbo Diesel engine. Designed in Italy and developed in Germany, the Clean Turbo Diesel engine is designed to cut down fuel consumption to as low as 46 MPG without sacrificing performance. It also generates 90% less nitrogen oxide and other emissions compared to previous diesel engines of a similar size. Other features include aluminum cylinder heads and pistons for a lighter weight and a hood blanket for reduced noise.
Aside from more efficient engine performance, Chevrolet also offers better entertainment and convenience through its MyLink onboard interface. Centered around a color touch-screen display on the dash, the Chevrolet MyLink provides easy access to navigation, entertainment, contacts, and other related features. In addition, MyLink can also pair up with electronic Chevrolet accessories, Chevy truck accessories and other gadgets, such as a satellite radio or smartphones. Users can connect their devices to the MyLink interface through a USB port, as well as stream audio via Bluetooth. iPhones in particular can provide a comprehensive handsfree experience as MyLink is compatible with the iPhone’s Siri feature, allowing the driver to compose messages touching or even looking at the screen.
Another mobile-related technology that’s standard in Chevrolet autos today is the OnStar RemoteLink. With RemoteLink, Chevrolet owners will be able to access certain features of their vehicle remote via selected smartphone model. A compatible phone, for instance, will be able to remote-start a car, pinpoint its location on a map, and even check its fuel and oil levels.
