I really wanted to like this place, it seemed exactly like what I was looking for, but now I m thinking not.

A year or so ago I went in and Gary helped me get some clear coat for a project I was working on. Seemed helpful enough, especially since I was new to automotive quality paints.

Came in again today because I wanted to try my hand at some more paint work and figured this was the place to go. Somewhere I could get some advice on how to start off, what type of paint to use. etc.

When I came in Gary was busy helping another customer so I waited for them to finish – no problem here I m glad he was willing to devote his time to the other customer to help him get what he needed. Near the end of the conversation with the previous customer Gary began talking about how the government does nothing right . The topic came up in regard to regulations on paint – and I tend to agree that some of the regulations on paint are a bit ridiculous, but he went past that and basically started schooling the customer on how bad the government is – not specific to paint, but general stuff. Definitely over the line and not professional at all. The customer and I pretty much just blew it off, or maybe the other guy shared the same viewpoint, I m not sure. I was willing to ignore this because I assume you re going to have to deal with a certain amount of old school dogma when dealing with a place like this. You gotta take the good with the bad. But it still irritated me.

The straw that broke the camel s back however was that he wasn t helpful when it was my turn at the counter. He answered my questions but really acted like he didn t want to be there talking to me. His attitude changed from the previous customer to me. It really wasn t a big deal until another customer came in, walked straight to the counter and Gary just started ignoring me and paying attention to the other guy. Apparently  he was done helping me.

I m bummed after this experience because I can t patronize a business that pushes it s political agenda and doesn t respect it s customers. Too bad, I thought I had an awesome local auto paint shop, I guess I was wrong.
