Parts for SAAB
eEuroparts.com has been a SAAB parts company since 2000, when our founder started selling SAAB parts online out of his garage. One thing we’ve learned over the last 15 years is that SAAB owners can rarely be described as “casual” SAAB enthusiasts. eEuroparts.com has over 15,000 SAAB parts in our catalog, including nearly 5,000 genuine SAAB parts. We’ve also aggressively expanded our SAAB performance parts offerings. We even design and construct our own unique SAAB performance parts in house! eEuroparts.com carries thousands of parts for your modern SAAB 9-3 or SAAB 9-5. or your SAAB 900 or 9000. Do you drive a SAAB 9-7x? We have the SAAB parts you need. eEuroparts.com even stocks parts for that 1973 SAAB 99 you like to show off to your friends.
By now, everyone knows the story of SAAB, but here is the Cliff notes version: SAAB was founded in 1937 as a Swedish aerospace company. As World War II drew to a close and the need for fighter jets lessened, the company looked to automobile manufacturing to drive revenue. In 1948 SAAB converted their Trollhattan facility to manufacture and assemble automobiles. A team of aerospace engineers created the SAAB 92 in 1949, meaning SAAB autos and all subsequent SAAB auto parts are quite actually “born from jets”.
SAAB developed a small but passionate fan base that appreciated SAAB’s unique approach to design and innovative technological advancements. In 1968 the SAAB 99 revolutionized even the sophisticated SAAB parts that had preceded it, and eventually lead to 1978’s SAAB 900 and the development of SAAB’s first luxury car in 1985, the SAAB 9000.
The success of these vehicles attracted an investment and eventual ownership of General Motors, which some SAAB loyalists see as the beginning of the end for SAAB. Regardless, GM did upgrade the 9000 to the SAAB 9-5 and the 900 to the 9-3, models that are still loved to this day. Unfortunately, shortly after Spyker bought SAAB in 2010, SAAB filed for bankruptcy in 2011.
This isn’t the end of SAAB, however. SAAB is developing electric versions of their vehicles for the Asian market, and those vehicles could eventually come back to Europe and the United States.
